The Brave and the Bold is very much a Batman fan's cartoon, with little easter eggs and nods to the comics, the other cartoons, the 1966 series, and even the movies. Did you really ever expect to see Kamandi ever make an appearance on TV? I doubt it, but there he was! The idea of Batman teaming up with other superheroes, often ones we've never seen animated before, to take down villains that have also received just as little screen time, is not only a refreshing spin on things but really opened them up to exploring the DC universe and having some fun.
